happy four months mason!

even though mason doesn't officially turn 4 months until the 13th, we had our check up on tuesday and pretty much got all good news. he weighs 12.2 pounds (still only in the 5 percentile but he is gaining at a steady rate) and is 24 3/4 long...long and skinny. when the doctor asked at the beginning of the appointment if there were any questions or concerns, we told her that we thought mason had a tooth coming in. she kind of reacted like everyone else...no one really believes us :) however, when she was checking him out she definitely saw his tooth and said it was almost cut completely through the gums. knowing our luck it will just go back down then come back up again later but we are crossing our fingers...we are sick of the fussing, drooling, and lack of sleep. as planned, mason got the dreaded shoots but handled it like a champ! he was done crying by the time we left the doctors office. what a tough boy! our doctor also gave us the go ahead to start feeding mason solids...YAY! so, we gave him his first bowl of cereal tonight which went fairly well. he pulled some super cute faces and ended up drooling most of the cereal all over his bib. i cant even wait until he gets to the good stuff!

that ouchy tooth! that little bump almost directly in the middle of the bottom gums is the culprit of fussiness. you can't see it very well in the picture but up close you can see the white right under his gums.

some other big events that happened today:

mason rolled over for the first time! he has been trying so hard but just cant (or is too lazy) to get over all the way. while playing during tummy time today, he suddenly went from his tummy to his back. it was so unexpected but i was so excited i started jumping up and down :) all our practice has finally paid off.

i got glasses...yep, glasses. i went in for an appointment last week and the doctor said im a little near-sighted. i dont absolutely need glasses, i would pass the driver's license test without any problems, but it would help in situations where i needed to see far away (like at work when i need to see the chalkboard from the back of the classroom). since our insurance basically covered everything we figured we would go ahead and get them while we could.

i got my diploma! now i really feel like a college graduate! it is so awesome knowing that i never have to step foot in a classroom again! (except ones that im teaching in of course). im pretty proud of myself :)
