8 months down, how many more to go?

mason boy is turning 8 months and it has been such a joy to watch him learn and grow! he has such a funny personality! he will go to anyone willing to hold him and he will chat with you whether you are paying attention or not. he is definitely a momma's boy yet he chooses only to say dada. he is getting really good at eating by himself...

well, with finger foods anyway...maybe not so much the cereal :)

those pictures were taken one night when curtis was getting him ready for bed. he insisted on holding the spoon himself and that was the result.

you would think that mason boy would be crawling by now but NO he is not!! it drives me nuts. he doesn't even try. whenever we lay him on his tummy he immediately flips back over to his back. don't think that means he doesn't know how to get around. he has already attempted to unwrap one present and destroy the christmas cards i had spread out on the floor. one day while working on scrapbooking stuff, i looked up and couldn't see mason where i had left him. he had decided to roll across the room and was on his way back when i spotted him. he can move....not the traditional way, but he gets where he is going. he has good intentions of crawling, i just think the thought of walking is taking over his brain. he is getting rather good at pulling himself up and standing and the other day he took a couple steps around the coffee table in our living room. it was odd of him to have his first tooth before he was 4 months old, maybe he will pull another trick and walk before he can crawl. weird.
