april already?

it's hard to imagine that last easter i had my hospital bag packed and we were anxiously counting down the hours until 2 a.m. when i was scheduled to be induced. this easter was less eventful and definitely not as exciting, but we still made the best of it.

to start off the long weekend (5 days off for me, 4 for curtis) we headed to my grandparents house up north. we enjoyed visiting with family, ate way too many sweets, and took total advantage of being able to sit on our butts and do nothing for a couple of days. well, i guess i can't say we didn't do anything...we did hit the big toys r us sale and got a great deal on some toys for mason's birthday (which is next week!?! i'll have more on that later :) we came home saturday afternoon looking for some time to ourselves and delighted in the fact that curtis no longer had to work sunday night as planned. we decided not to dye or hide any eggs but next year mason will be old enough to know what is going on so i will be sure to make an event out of it! the easter bunny did bring mason a basket, but as suspected he couldn't have cared less. i sat it down on the floor for him, he pulled everything out, then crawled off to find something more interesting to do.

a few weeks ago, curtis and i went to manti for our anniversary. there is a little bed and breakfast where we had our wedding luncheon right after we got married and we thought it would be fun to go back to celebrate! we visited the temple, ate dinner, then spent the rest of the night holed up in our room watching movies. this was my first night away from mason so i experienced a little seperation anxiety, but i had a great time with curtis! the manti house was the perfect getaway for us and i love going back to where it all began! hopefully we get to do it again soon!

  1. Wouldn't you know it. This weekend is the first time I have left Hannah over night and Elijah's second time. Adam and I went to Adam's mission reunion in Salt Lake, so the kids stayed with Grandma and Aunt Ruth.

I'm not going to lie when I was first reading it and saw you stayed at a B&B I was like no way did they stay in that crazy horror movie house! LOL! But then I read on and realized where it was! That was a cute little place! I bet you had a ton of fun!
