dirt

after finishing up some spring cleaning in the house saturday morning, we decided to venture outside to do some much needed yard work (those of you who came to mason's party know what i am talking about...our lawn was a jungle!) while curtis mowed and trimmed, mason and i decided to tackle some weeds that constantly take root by our front porch. at one point i glanced over to see mason lifting a dirt clod to his mouth. i grabbed the dirt from him telling him that was yucky. mason thought that was hilarious. he laughed, grabbed another clod and lifted it to his mouth. i said no and grabbed it from him hand again but discipline doesn't work if you are laughing too. the third time mason pulled this stunt i wasn't fast enough. a handful of dirt flew into mason's mouth and he immediately started to try and scrape his mouth clean. we took a trip to the kitchen faucet but failed to clean off his entire face. you can't see it very well in the pictures, but his whole chin streaked with dirt.

unfortunately, good weather in the spring is often followed by a snow storm so we have been trying to take full advantage of the sunshine! these are just a few pictures of mason one evening after a walk. he found the flowers but after shredding only one was off to find something else to get into.

we have a super busy month ahead of us including my birthday, curtis' birthday, 3 graduations, 2 baby blessings, 2 relatives getting their endowments out, 2 farewells, and plenty of things in between so be prepared for hearing from us a lot!
