mason's first birthday

my baby is longer a baby...he is officially a toddler! whoa.

tuesday was the big day. dad had to work so we kept things pretty low key. mason got a package in the mail from grandma steph and grandpa tony (3 super cute outfits!) and some blocks from grandma colleen and grandpa jon.

thursday was check up day. he is still -5 on the growth charts with a whopping weight of 17 pounds which means still no front facing car seat. no surprise there. other than being a skinny bones, everything else was normal. he was perfect through the whole exam and didn't even flinch when he got his finger pricked.

saturday was party day! we invited some friends and family over to our house and celebrated mase boys big milestone. the kids ran around in the game room with all the toys while the adults hung out and talked. we kicked things off with the cake and yes, i made it myself :) mason dug right in and once he understood that it was edible, he did quite enjoy himself. after getting his fill of sweets, he just pounded on the cake until it all ended up on the floor. it was so much fun watching him have a good time!

mason now has two cousins and of course they are both girls :) esther was born on march 22nd and mason LOVES her! he is so gentle with her and when she cries, he worries about her. they are so cute together and we are so glad they live close enough to hang out!

so the party turned out pretty good and i think mason really liked it. he got some really cool toys, got to play with other kids all day, and got to throw his food all over the floor...who wouldn't love that?
