gobble, gobble

the tuesday before thanksgiving, we left cedar at 11:30 p.m. headed for the great state of colorado. yes, it was late, but curtis got off work early and decided that he could make the drive which allowed mason to sleep the whole 8 hours. we arrived around 7:30 the next morning and it was go, go, go from that point on!

the weather was amazing the whole time we were visiting...jackets were not even required most of the time. my in-laws have this swing on their balcony and the warm sunshine gave mason plenty of chances to enjoy it.

on thanksgiving day we joined the rest of the family at curtis' aunt and uncles house. the tables looked great and the food was even better. we had turkey, potatoes with noodle gravy, salads, stuffing, pie, and everything in between. mmmm :) after we ate the girls cleaned up and chatted...

and of course the guys watched football.

that night me, curtis, my sister-in-law and her husband all stayed up hoping to hit the toys R us sale that started at midnight. when we got there, a huge mass surrounded the door and the line stretched across several parking lots. we decided we weren't that desperate and would come later in the morning. most of the deals were gone by the time curtis and i finally made it back, but we still got some great toys for mason. we went back earlier the next day after the shelves had been re-stocked and finished up shopping for mason.

throughout the next two days we were able to get quite a few of presents including this:

we had decided that we would get a new camera for christmas and had a couple different models that we were looking at. our friends actually have a camera similar to this one and it sounded pretty cool hearing them describe it. after doing some research on it, we decided this was the one. we thought we would have to order it online but while shopping one day, we found it on the sears shelf. can i just say coolest thing ever! the touch screen on the back is awesome and i love that it has a screen on the front which allows perfect self portraits, a clown to get kids to smile, a countdown and so many other cool features. betcha can't guess who is stoked for christmas morning :)
